Conventional Embryo Freezing Method

‘Conventional Embryo Freezing Method’ that is the first technique applied to human cells is aimed at maintaining vitality of the cell by creating ice crystals around the cell with a slow and controlled freezing process. However, embryo may not preserve its vital aspects due to trauma it is exposed during this process. 

Vitrification Treatment

In comparison with the conventional method, vitrification method allows the freezing of embryos 600 to 1000 times faster; thus, vital aspects of embryo are maintained with a success rate of 95% which in turn increases the pregnancy rate. 

The success rate is a lot higher than the ‘slow freezing technique’ compared to the previously used Assisted Reproduction Techniques. 

Freezing takes 10 minutes in vitrification method and the embryo is frozen in 3 hours in the conventional method. One of the success criteria for in vitro fertilization is the health of the embryo to be transferred.  Conventional freezing method that may have adverse effects on the cell is reduced down to 3 hours and implemented quickly in the vitrification method that maintains structural integrity of the cell; thus, the success rate is increased compared to the conventional method.
 
Embryo with limited exposure to external factors provides higher rate of success in case of transfer, when compared with the other embryo frozen with conventional method. 

Embryo Thawing

Success of embryo thawing is as important as the success of the vitrification process. Thawing must be performed by an experienced team in order to minimize the exposure of embryos to external factors.
